Location: The Pumphouse Makerspace, East Albury
First Nations artists are invited to explore jewellery making and metalwork, learn new techniques and develop ideas for products, artworks or creative projects.
Facilitated by an experienced artist, the workshop will introduce practical jewellery-making techniques and explore how artists can incorporate these skills into their existing creative practice and product development.
Across the day, you will get hands-on experience in:
The workshop is designed to encourage experimentation, skill development and the creation of market-ready products, while helping to adapt jewellery-making techniques to your own artistic practice.
These workshops are part of the Elevate Program, funded by Create NSW and led by a First Nations Project Manager. The program focuses on product and business development while creating space to experiment, learn and grow your creative practice.
A culturally respectful approach
The Elevate Program respects Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), supports artist-led decision making and recognises participants as the owners of their creative work.
This is for First Nations artists at any stage of their creative journey who are interested in exploring new materials, learning practical techniques and developing products, artworks or creative ideas.
How to register
To make sure everyone has plenty of hands-on time and access to the studio facilities, each workshop is limited to six artists.
