Terms and Conditions for Membership of The Pumphouse Makerspace Albury

Terms and Conditions for Membership 

 

This agreement is made between The Pumphouse Makerspace (“The Pumphouse”) And the hirer (Member) for use of studio space at The Pumphouse at 9 Boundary Road, Albury.  

 

  1. General Conditions
  • The member must comply with the conditions of this agreement; failure to do so may result in cancellation of the agreement.
  • The Pumphouse has the right to refuse access to the facility. 
  • The member must complete a full safety induction and orientation, which includes training on the safe use of equipment and facilities and familiarisation with AlburyCity Wellbeing Health and Safety policies and procedures. Induction sessions are delivered on site by The Pumphouse staff and other suitably qualified practitioners engaged by The Pumphouse. The Pumphouse reserves the right to restrict access to artists who have not completed this induction.
  • The member acknowledges that the facility is a shared facility and will be used by other members or groups. 
  • No sub-letting or transfer of membership of any kind is permitted.
  • All persons entering Council property do so at their own risk. 
  • No smoking is prohibited at the facility including in the grounds.
  • Participants must be 18 and above to become a member at The Pumphouse. 
  • Visitors, including children and family members are permitted on site by prior arrangement with The Pumphouse staff and must be supervised by the member at all times. 
  • Use of the internet facilities must be in compliance with AlburyWodonga Free Wi-Fi Terms and Conditions.

 

  1. Hours of access 
  • The facility is available to members during the times advertised on The Pumphouse website.  
  • The member is not permitted to access the facility for any purpose outside their approved hire times.  Access times are monitored by the swipe card data. Unauthorised access will result in cancellation of the membership.
  • The Pumphouse staff are in attendance during the supervised hours detailed on The Pumphouse webs

 

  1. Fees and charges
  • All fees and charges are adopted annually by AlburyCity Council and are subject to change each year on 1 July. 
  • Members with regular bookings will be invoiced monthly. All membership fees must be paid in advance. Partial payments will not be accepted.

 

  1. Cancellations
  • The Pumphouse reserves the right to cancel the membership at any time if the member breaches the terms of this agreement.
  • Should Council cease operation of the facility all Membership Agreements shall be rendered null and void and unused membership fees shall be refunded to the member.

 

  1. Insurance and indemnity
  • The member is covered by Council’s Public Liability Insurance whilst on the premises. 
  • The Pumphouse does not insure any goods or equipment brought into the facility by the member. Members are advised that they should obtain insurance for their own equipment and goods.
  • The member indemnifies Council against all damages suffered by themselves or any other person or entity in relation to the use of the facility. 

 

  1. Security
  • Members will be issued a security swipe card to access The Pumphouse main building and gr At the end of the membership period, the member must return the swipe card to Pumphouse staff. 
  • Swipe cards cannot be given by the member to another person.
  • In the event of a lost or stolen key card, the member must notify The Pumphouse management immediately. A replacement fee may apply for issuing a new key card. 
  • The Pumphouse is equipped with CCTV surveillance and a security alarm system. Pumphouse staff can monitor member access based on usage patterns observed through swipe card data. 

 

  1. Minimising risk and managing emergencies
  • There is a first aid kit located in the kitchen of the All use of first aid equipment and consumables is to be logged in the notebook inside the kit.
  • The member is responsible for familiarising themselves with the Evacuation Plan on display at the facility, including the location of emergency exit doors, before commencing any activities.

 

  1. Conduct and behaviour
  • The member agrees to respect the rights and privacy of other users of the facility.  Any form of harassment, discrimiation or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the cancellation of the membership by The Pumphouse.
