The Pumphouse National Artist Residence Program is a paid residential creative development program for makers and artists from across Australia. We are looking for creative risk takers ready to experiment, explore innovative interdisciplinary collaborations, develop exceptional new work and contribute boldly to their art form.
Our residencies are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of both the project and the artist’s availability. We offer opportunities for individuals and groups to participate.

Each residency culminates in a public outcome or program that will benefit the Pumphouse creative community. This could include workshops, open studios, masterclasses, collaborative artwork delivery, or a combination of creative offerings.

Up to six residency programs will be run every year. To be considered, artists will need to read the guidelines and provide an Expression of Interest.
The 2025 Artist in Residence Program will open for Expressions of Interest in late 2024.
