Guided by Jess, you’ll learn how to apply coloured underglaze to the surface of your slipcast baubles before scratching and carving back through the colour to reveal beautiful patterns, textures and designs using the sgraffito technique.

About the Artist
Born and raised in Chile by creative parents, Jessica came to Australia in 2006, with a strong love of pattern and colour and a passion for design firmly instilled in her. Her career in ceramics may have started as a hobby but fast became an artform that provides connection to her environment and a medium for expression. Working under the name of Alma Terra Pottery, Jessica is known for her organic, functional forms featuring eye-catching, joyful designs that reflect her love of the outdoors. This love of the natural environment extends to Jessica’s studio, where she incorporates environmentally friendly practices wherever possible.
