We invite you to step inside The Pumphouse and explore all the possibilities waiting for you. Whether you’re a hobbyist, a professional artist or someone who’s curious about learning something new, our Come & Try days are designed to spark your creativity and give you a firsthand experience of the space.

Here’s what you can look forward to during your visit:

Tour the Facilities – Wander around the renovated heritage building and grounds, and see how we’ve turned a disused old pumphouse into a state-of-the-art-facility for artists to gather and make.

Try the Equipment – Have you always wanted to test out a pottery wheel or fiber arts loom? This is your chance! Get a feel for the equipment and perhaps an idea for your next project.

Watch Demonstrations – Our skilled technicians will be in attendance to showcase their skills during live demos, offering you a glimpse of the artistic processes that make the arts so thrilling. It’s a great way to see art in action and learn a new technique or two!

Get Your Hands Dirty – Roll up your sleeves and dive into the materials. You’ll have the chance to create something of your own, guided by experienced artists who can answer any questions you may have.

Meet Other Creatives – Connect with like-minded individuals in the area. The Pumphouse is all about building a community of makers, and our open days are a great way to meet other artists and hobbyists who share your passion for creativity.

Ask Questions – Curious about memberships, equipment, kiln firing – or anything else? Our staff will be available to answer any questions you may have, and help you find the right fit for your artistic journey.

Please book before attending. Tickets are free, but please book to register your attendance.
